She sits and stares out the window As the rain falls like tears down the glass How much she wanted him to love her How much she wanted this love to last But now as she turns, there's just emptiness No more will he be standing there Once more she is left all alone In this place where much love was once shared The fire is crackling behind her The sheepskin rug was where they once laid Two bodies entwined in such passion A place where so much love was made But now the embers just smoulder This log cabin has now lost its glow As she opens the door, a cold wind envelops her She stares disbelievingly out in the snow How on earth could he just up and leave her Oh, how her aching heart does now pine She knows that it will be such a long time Before her heart is able to shine She'll now spend some days in this cabin All alone so she can collect all her thoughts The perfect place for her to be by herself While she's feeling so much out of sorts At night she will set the table For a romantic dinner she'll make for two As she glances longingly out the window Just hoping he will come into view Suetang |

A very touching piece. Many images and deep thoughts. i enjoyed this, though it was quite sad. "Forget regret, or life is yours to miss. No other course, no other way... No day but today" |

SueTang~ I just loved the haunting longing that stood out in this. 'As she glances longingly out the window Just hoping he will come into view' He does show up - doesn't he ? Sure he does ... she believes he will - so he will ! (I like happy endings - so in case he doesn't, don't tell me.) Very nicely done. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |
