On my return, down winding road
I passed an aquaintance or two,
But my feet were tired and now the slowed
Lacking my sight were you.

I hoped to find you well, old friend
And see you here at last,
Remembering times that we shared
And dredging up the past.

But it seems you've left this place of ours
And headed where it's brighter
To your place among the stars
My poet, friend and writer.

So here's to you friend, once again
I raise my glass in toast
And wish I could see that lovely pen
Write down just one more post.

But I'm returned and friends are here
To welcome me home yet again,
And to all of them I hold so dear
Again I'll raise my pen.

***Back again, home again...***
