You Found Me I had wandered far from your light I was lost and felt alone My world was filled with petty jealousies and insubstantial foam I had lost my way and been diverted away by glittering lies I’d fallen into despair lost in a cold world of shattered sighs You found me lying in that house where despair imprisoned me Your words magically released me from those chains of misery Into that world of dark pain you spread your glorious light Warming me through filling my eyes with your beauteous sight Forlorn and bedraggled I had roamed to places full of fears My spirit had spiraled downward and I was awash with tears I had listened to promises that lied offering me hope’s beauty Believed that lust was a true child of pure love not a fallacy You whispered the words that settled within my unworthy soul And although I was full of mistrust you filled the empty hole Without a word of condemnation you turned me right around Faced me toward truth and in your eyes my peace is found Bereft of good intentions I had lost myself in a pit of pain My eyes couldn’t see truth and I doubted I would again I had seen much that wasn’t real and lost my hope in it all I’d become stupid and deaf not listening for truth’s pure call You spoke my name in accents that my heart heard clearly Showed me there was much more, that you loved me dearly You gave me your hand and filled me with your truths grace Revealed your tender love for me it shines from your face Marsha Take back the hope you gave,- I claim |

I am a newbie here, so this is my first post. This is a beautiful piece and I have a great appreciation for it. I have been where you wrote about, in fact I think I still have one foot in that place, and I am trying to yank free. Thank you. It is truly a beatiful work. |

I kept reading trying to see who had done this for you. Maybe God? Or perhaps just someone who could see the real you. Anyway it was a good poem and held my attention. Joyce |

MarshaLove~ It is so very plain to see you are now far from that misery Gracing us with words so sweet as to sweep us from our feet The Phoenix Circle of friends indeed have called you forth to fill a need Spreading sunshine from your smile within a heart that is so worthwhile Always kindly gracing those who would share a kindness with you too Loving, gentle, kind and strong holding friendships hand - come along You are just the greatest treasure counting friendship in full measure Thinking of others in your rhyme I think you're special for all time ! *Oh ... and not to mention INSPIRATIONAL ! You ARE THE LIGHT ! Love you~ ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |
