~I Choose To Love~

Trials and test come with such a roar
even a screeching eagle knows when to soar,
away from storms he sails for a rest
secure in his nest he fears no great winds,
but alone I sit by my bedroom door
not wanting to welcome, or endure anymore
then I see the gold wedding ring,
remembering the promise we sealed with a kiss,
the tears that followed from wedding bliss.
How can storms dare to threaten
the pureness of this?
When the winds blow
I'll choose to love,
for as sure as a golden sunset
your familiar caress will touch my heart once more.
So I choose to love till death we part.
Secure and safe in the knowledge of this
it's off to bed I go,
counting my my blessings,
and a few little sheep

Love as a choice...I understand this and don't think I've seen it written about often. Enjoyed this very much!
