He loved me
with raw passion
I had never known
and broke me
with an anger just as strong

Over and over
I rose and fell
in sweet love and bleeding tears
Trying and failing
to reach and hold his expectations

And while I could not stop myself from loving him
I finally realized it was easiest
to do so quietly
from a distance
beyond his reach
where I could give and yet finally
be enough
Only this time
for me

Tessa,

Hello Welcome to Passions I like your poem.. it is hard when you have to realize you have to do what's best for you, but it eventually happens doesn't it?  I can't wait to read more from you I hope you like it here.

Welcome to the family. You have made a very nice entrance. Enjoyed your poem it had a lot to say.

Very descriptive of a love so overpowering, but a soul strong enough to get away before it consumed you whole.

I've always felt love should NOT come with expectations, but sadly sometimes it does....

I seem to be reading backwards, having read other works of yours before your first post.  The wisdom of your words is appreciated.  Your style of writing is becoming a favorite of mine.
