when the ulcers came... thoughts of you chewing the limited parts of me unaffected by pain i gobbled the pills ate the chalk of experience gagged on the truth forced myself to swallow when the ulcers came... your depravities exposed while the acid of them claimed my intestines i separated myself from the one doubled over and everyone praised my perfect posture but alone, late at night i regurgitate reasons for deceptive spine and perfect weight your perversive hands on our only child... the memory that dug these holes in my stomach |

Damn. I'm sorry for pain. I think this horrendous act should not go unpunished. Please, take this child away, NOW. Melton |

although i appreciate the concern...i must remind you to keep in mind, that this is not an autobiograpical poem. i wrote it in the first person because i feel it has more impact that way.(seems it does) it was drawn on the experience of an old friend years ago. poets write about many things, using first person or third for various reasons. my poems are sometimes fact, fiction, fantasy...hey, we are writers, using imagination as well as reality then spilling them on a page in the hopes they will touch the reader. i appreciate the fact that this drew such a compassionate response from you but would ask that you not take EVERY poem i write to be autobiographical...well, do ya think i've proven myself true to my name, ramblings??? hehe thank you for reading and commenting...appreciate it |
