This Thing Called Love This thing that people call love alludes me completely my whole life I have searched awaiting the one and only true love tears have way to often fallen from these sore tired eyes feeling isolated lonely Wondering if I would ever know the feeling of being so completely loved waiting for what so many of my friends have been lucky enough to find so there I was waiting here alone Trying to keep hidden this radiating ache consuming and then I found you Right away I knew That I have found the love That my heart has been eagerly Awaiting to find and to hold so close My heart sang aloud with love My world was perfect Happiness filled My heart I accepted That never ever again I would be lonely, feel alone I thought that I’ve finally found the Soul mate I’ve been waiting so long for To share the rest of our lives with I’ve never felt so fulfilled So alive with wonder With what I’ve had Amazed And then From nowhere Your sweet love left I’ve never been so broken Not knowing what to do all alone And I suddenly realized I misunderstood That I myself choose to assume this Myth that I thought was real true and everlasting I was wrong. Now here I stand once more Alone… still aching with What I thought life was going to be Wanting the things love has promised me Wanting the dreams and hopes to return to me But I am left with these fears that haunt All of my dreams and thoughts With no where to turn And no comfort Alone. are ya trying to make me cry??? Tara this is sooo sad, but so beautiful. your presentation is divine... and your ache lifts off the page... you have expressed your heart so sincerely and honestly... I hope you find peace and healing in your writing... this beauty should go a long way in helping purge some of the pain. Janet - Thank you for the kind compliments. I'm glad my words touched you. I did feel better after I wrote this.. and about 4 others. I haven't been writing very much and I miss it. It is the best therapy I could ask for. Thanks again for stopping in. |

Ah, Tara, there is so much sincerity in this poem...sometimes it is so strange...we can't find what we are looking for and so we stop looking...and it finds us..as long as you are still open to it...that's what matters  |
