Lover’s Prey (a song)

Closing my eyes,
a moment to breathe -
feel you brush by,
murmurs on stealthy breeze,
subliminal sway
only partially revealed,
darting away
teasing tongues repealed.

Show me – your waves
colors lighting – the way,
soft in your play
this pastime  - of delay,
the lover’s  prey.

Slow turning fan
in midnight’s dripping heat,
a dreamlike span
now reversing in beat,
this cooling down,
time, like the tides recede
when we drown,
surrender is so sweet.
