Cold Virginia Salter cold though sunlight streams through the glass I watch it pass unheeding nothing seems capable capable of warming any part of me perhaps sleep sleep, its silence will stay this chill that engulfs me edges me in imaginary icicles yet sleep may not come in blanketed comfort for day’s begun hours pass minutes crash down on me governing me ruling my days stealing my freedom to curl in a cocoon of my making as if baking in the warmth so sought by every inch of me ©April 20, '01 if you read this, I'm hoping you will seek down the board my "Night Flight" and "Behind the Shower Curtain" both written last year. |
