In Your Poetic Mind

Lazy Sundays spent
Taking time thinking
Of old memories or making
New ones, it is then when I
Look around to see what
Might be left of you and me

A silent laugh, maybe a
Quick smile, interlaced
With the soft touch of our
Last good-bye, I find it
Still flows through the air
when thinking of you

In dreams at night
I see the glow of the moon,
As it plays softly on your skin
You still take my breath away,

As you weave to my heart, your love
A safe haven from this tower
Of walls that were once strong
Within you

To be weekend lovers, again
As we watch the sky
Together at night, leaving
Footprints across every star
We wished upon

Your map of love still trails
My body to every place you have touched,
Every place you have been inside,

Every place I still feel

This moment is all I have to hold
You in, somewhere when all your doors
Of love close, and a new opens,
Far beyond the moonlight and
The footprints left, these two
Hearts will fall silently once again

I know you will touch my distant
Dreams as I reach for you

When the sun fades, and
The moon is high,
As the breeze of summer
Blows over you and I

As we smile against the sky

Two stars will fall
***

Without you I find myself
Wanting to be lost again."

It isn't often that I run across a piece of writing that is written so very well. This is simply a masterpiece. Thanks for sharing it.

The imagery in this piece is beautiful.. very well done!

subconsciously, i think i can eat so much to make my stomach hurt, instead of my heart.

nothing I could say will do this ones beauty and intent of inspire justice ...
or truely convey the way it effected me ...
so I will simply thank you for it and place it with my other treasures.

I love your imperfections ... I love your everything ...
Your broken heart ... your broken wings.

Lauren,

Absolutely lovely, my friend. Your imagery is always so wonderfully used.  This is a keeper.
