~* Grant Me My Moment *~

To some my poem will seem somewhat trite,
But it's really just how I’m feeling tonight.
So please don’t bring your red marker here,
Allow me to let loose, and shed a little tear.

I keep trying to block out this horrible pain,
But here it comes, creeping up on me again.
Always so alone and helpless in this plight,
Oh, what I'd give for someone to comfort me tonight.

This constant denominator written in stone,
By the hands of the devil, my fate always unknown.
So tired of fighting, but with my strength I will win,
I’ve been there before, but it's just wearing thin.

Heartache seems to be my constant friend,
But I have one release ~ this comforting pen.
I write out words of frustration, pain, and fear,
Of loneliness enveloping me in my world so austere.

Now I’m strong and resilient; I’ll see it through,
And probably be a better woman when I finally do.
The devil won this marker, and I feel all alone in this,
But he's never going to drag me down into his abyss.

I’ve got just too much living to look forward to,
And with my tenacity somehow I'll breeze through.
I keep on wishing for myself, serenity in life,
To feel carefree, happy, and eliminate the strife.

Sometimes I am weary and wonder is it too late?
It gets a little lonely here as I sit and wait ~
I look after me all right, and I do the job well,
I got smart long ago, I told the Devil to go to Hell!

So grant me my moment of feeling sorry for myself,
I’m not writing to be a Pulitzer Prize book on your shelf,
And when your heart is broken and you need an ear,
Just try to remember that I too will be here.

~*~Thank you~*~

Mysteria~
Make that five, my friend.

And - I'm almost out of 'red ink' ...

'I got smart long ago, I told the Devil to go to Hell!'

Gotta admit that I LIKED this part !

Marge - trust you to make me smile in all this...bet you used all your red ink on me didn't you?      Gonna have to tell someone who cares - he he.  And yup, as far as the devil goes - never did like that little guy's outfit, quite unstylish!  Thanks for the hug, you know I always look for your hugs, they just have a special "feel" to them! Oh...thanks for reading my wimper.

Hon, if this is trite, I might as well just buy a rubber stamp with the word and save my fingers their scribbling efforts. *G* I send not just sympathy but empathy... and a thumbs up for a great poem. *S*

One moment, nay two
I shall grant to you
You may borrow ear
Feel free to shed tear
Please don't find this odd
Use the ear of God.

Live for love. Without love, you don't live.
