I am torn. Drawn as if to the sun Knowing the closer I go The worse the burn. Fearing rejection. Fearing acceptance. Fearing. Loving. Respecting. Anticipation Quickens my pulse. I take pen in hand To write: Can you accept love Boldly giv’n from such as I Who loves you so much No, Don’t ask, Tell! (Maybe she won’t like a senryu) Would that I could speak My love in words that touch you As soft lips melding Or Would that I could speak my love Words brought on wings of dove Whispering in thine ear While holding thee so near. No, I think I’ll just read Her verse. Live for love. Without love, you don't live. [This message has been edited by Interloper (edited 04-19-2001).] |

I am torn. Drawn as if to the sun Knowing the closer I go The worse the burn. ====================== ahhhh ... like the perverbial moth to the flame ... never fear your own words ... silence is always worse than sincerity. this is a very cool premise and inspire. well done poet sir I love your imperfections ... Senyru or sonnet or sweet songs or soft whispers... if the words are sincere, they'll be beautiful to one who returns your feelings whatever the format. *S* Of course... reading's nice too... but you never know what response you might be missing by not writing/trying. *S* Great poem! |
