Hey, Shakesbeer, I read your profile, and you sound like JUST the kind of guy I've been looking for. You live in Saint Louis, huh. Well baby, I'm just right around the corner. So why don't ya come up and see me sometime. *wink* This poem evokes flashes from the late 70's early 80's era for me...the hard rockers. Anyone remember Spinal tap? lol "Glory remains unaware of my neglected dwelling where alone I sing my tearful song which has charms only for me." I know this life---and old habits do die hard--and? trust me, they DO die...But sometimes it gets to be a matter of kill or be killed. Not sure if this was a sarcastic slant or an irreverent in-your-face- viewpoint, but either way, it's a compelling look into the mindset of an all-or-nothing lifestyle. And? I'm surely not one to judge. A road to recovery? I'll let ya know when I get there, but methinks it's a very personal path through a very dense forest. Hugs to you, and thanks for sharing. |
