And In Hindsight The need to meet you was mostly mine or so it seems at this time... Taking those long hour drives each way never giving it a thought...because I loved you. And you always surprised me in some way...When I drove the distance to meet you and found you practicing your golf strokes ...then playing a round of miniature golf afterwards on that bright sunny day. I was so embarassed, as I couldn't even remember the last time I had played and didn't recall the rules, but laughed so much for the first time in a very long while. I watched a small child, a toddler, do better than me, as my ball was wet more times than dry. I landed in every pond, puddle, fountain... bounced over every wall, object and if lucky would maybe find my way into a hole. I stopped counting my strokes after awhile and at times would just carry the ball to the hole and drop it in. You had to think me a bit "nuts". Afterwards we sat at a small tavern, made small talk, held hands across the table... I was so nervous and as I often do, I talk with my hands and knocked over my almost empty glass. Then there was the time I came and you asked me to get out of my car and into yours and sped away, not telling me where we were going. It was another beautiful day although any day with you was beautiful to me. It was a surprise, you said. We arrived at a golf course and I tried my best to be your caddy. At that point I would be your "anything", just to spend more time with you... Hardly anyone was on the greens and I laughed at you when you lost the ball in the brush and we couldnt find it ... not even the next one that was flourescent orange, could we find. And then there were the times you lifted me off my feet with your kisses, as you stopped between shots to attend to me. These were the times I remember the most and in hindsight, you were right... those unplanned, unexpected, spur of the moment meetings were the best, and the happiest of times... and if I could, I would want them to occur over and over again not just in my mind, but in real. I have never taken anything in life for granted, especially you... these are my words, in 20/20 vision and in hindsight, true to my heart, to be pressed between pages of my mind and left now for you, as a token of my love... ~Wynter "The worst prison would be a closed heart". ...Pope John Paul II [This message has been edited by nakdthoughts (edited 04-14-2001).] |

I read and felt your happiness then the heaviness of my heart as the joy left you with nothing more than memories. |
