The night has swallowed Me, apparantly, As I am Surrounded by darkness. I cant even see My hands When I hold them Inches from my face. I cant hear Myself when I Yell for someone, anyone. Thats when I notice That it is quite cold here In this darkness. And the more I Think about it, The colder it gets. I dont even recall How I came to be So alone. 'Sometimes we think it's holding on that makes us strong, but sometimes it's letting go' ~~Sam Ewing |

Sami, Very introspective write. If you truly are lonely, I suspect it won't last long, as there are many fine folks here at Passions. Take care. Michael Proust- |

I think the ending is my favorite part of this poem, simpily because you've captured how we often don't realize where we're heading until we're there. Nice, Sami |

I liked this too. But I wonder, why you are so cold and alone. Joyce |

The cold and the darkness were tangible. Reminds me of a night I spent camping...if I had put it into words as succinct as yours. Speak when you are angry--and you'll make the best speech you'll ever regret...Laurence J. Peter |

wow, thank you all for the nice comments!! i feel like i should explain this a little...i wrote it because an ex told me that im too scared to be alone...it made me angry that he said that so this is kind of a way to prove to him that i know what its like to be alone to me.....dont know, but i dont think i proved him wrong ~Sami~ 'Sometimes we think it's holding on that makes us strong, but sometimes it's letting go' ~~Sam Ewing |

Sami~ I think I have ventured into this sort of fear, in times past. It's not a pleasant place to be, but oh how much more do I love the light of day now! Very well written! Deb |
