Dust Of Words

I released my soul
from the attic of fear,
unlocked my violins of courage
poured it's very voice onto paper
and recited the poetry of my heart
yearning for love's enrapture,
yet, gusts of laughter
resounded with emptiness,
echoes of mockery
lowered verse to dust -
fragments of nothingness
unworthy sonnet of soul,
tears now smudge the ink symphony
on the page of me
of what could have danced,
bruised beyond recognition
roses become crab grass
beauty withers to beast,
but, I'm okay, really...
I'll just blow away
with my words

Yes, an incredible write of depression...please don't blow away in the dust.  May you receive a piece of this spring shower that is cleansing and empowering me this day...or is it the 3 cups of caffeine?  No matter, lots is getting done inside, things that have needed doing for months, even!

Enjoyed your poem, it is powerful in its message!  May you receive as much power in exuberance to light up your day!

I know this isn't going to help much, but I have been there too, and I know how that hurts as words are of your soul's creation.  And you can't just blow them off, it takes time.  This was an awesome piece, and one I am sure many can identify with. Very nicely done.

This surely touches ever poets soul..........so well done, so poignant,
so beautiful...........

On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free.

Melybee, you just blew away any common-sense comment I could have made....first I was picking favorite lines....

then I was dustbowled away....

quit being so awesome for just a little while....let the rest of us catch up!

missy,

this is full of pain,
but, never regret showing
anyone who you really
are, even if rejection is
risked, your words and YOU
are perfect just the way
they are, listen to me for
once
