Hairballs and Life I sleep with the TV on because I have been left all alone and I live in a silence that kills. My spirit aches for a voice. One whose intonation sends waves of knowing towards me. Knowing my pains, my hurts those intentional and not, thrown my way. I sometimes wish to be someone else not really knowing who, just someone else. Someone who is respected, valued, shown she has some worth. I am learning some harsh lessons in this life...the harshest being no one fights for me. So I have to do it myself. That old adage that crime doesn't pay... well it's not true any longer. It does pay, in many ways. I can't ever get away with anything, not that I have tried much in my life to. Actually I have led a very sterile life, and that seems to be my downfall. Especially in handling my emotions. But I try my best, which is just not good enough these past few years...and especially these last six months or so. I would have preferred to be sleeping right now, instead I was awakened by a bear growling on tv and my cat throwing up a hairball...next to me. I wonder what that feels like, regurgitating something that is caught in your throat, something so hard to swallow or keep down... and wish my thoughts could be removed so easily from my body. No one will understand where I am coming from. Many say they are naive and innocent in life, as I have been told I am...but most aren't. Not innocent as in never doing an occassional wrong, but innocent as in inexperienced in dealing with many events that have been occurring to me. I am tired now, too tired to explain anymore, too tired to write poetry here, too tired of little support that I receive and feel like sitting this life out watching from the sidelines while everyone else partners and dances to words of others. Your best has always been good enough....your worth.....always valuable to those who know and care for you. Spit that hairball out lady.....live. *s* (Loved the title) (perhaps we should do one together sometime about our past twelve months of life.....wouldn't that be an interesting poem? ) Hugs On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free. |

and wish my thoughts could be removed so easily from my body. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sweet poet, you write what so many of us have lived as well ... only you seem to do it better than most. I wonder, do we become poets because of what life presents us, or were we always poets and never bloomed until life got our attention? Your words and feelings certainly got my attention. You write so well with a rare combination of feeling and truth. Please continue for we need you ... we need you very much. Live for love. Without love, you don't live. Wynter - I do feel your pain, and you are worthy, very worthy. My hand is yours, whenever you need it. BC |
