*Race the Sun* My room's a mess My eyes are closed The music's up The Sun is too What i wouldn't give to stay underneathe the sheets forever No more people, school, or work... Just coffee, books, and rainy weather. i don't wanna get up to another damn day of made-up smiles and playin the fool. Tired of wastin the weekends away drinkin this beer and shootin some pool. And as i look out my my window... i see the world keeps movin on. Tomorrow comes. It fades. It's gone. Hey ---- What's goin on? And i drive a little faster The windows down, My eyes are closed. If the streets all end one mile ahead, Then my future don't need a road. They say dreamers only live at night So i'll run a little faster an' touch the light The journey is never over The journey's just begun... Race the Sun My room is empty The boxes are full My eyes were shut til i met you i'm finally movin outta this town and you're givin me a reason to stay. Love holds the world together, but it's always gettin in my way. And i've been waitin my whole damn life just to find a genuine draft like you. How do you pick "living" or "loving" your life? Why should you choose between the two? And as i look out my my window... i see the world keeps movin on. Tomorrow comes. It fades. It's gone. And i'm left wond'rin... What's goin on? Race the Sun i only get one chance to do this dance an' i'm gonna make it my own. but if i left my chance behind how will i have ever known? My room is new Six-hundred miles away My eyes are open The Sun has won The Sun, he set on yesterday when it was still tomorrow. And Lady Moonlight smiled while i drank away my sorrows. And as i look out my window... i see the world keeps movin on. If you refuse to seize the day Please don't say Where has it gone? And i drive a little faster Windows down, eyes open wide. Low on gas and the roads are gone... the way to Easy Street ain't an easy ride. The say dreamers only live at night So i'll run faster; i'll grab the light. The journey is never over and the fun has just begun... Ethan...this has got to be one of the Coolest poems/songs I've ever read.... They say dreamers only live at night So i'll run a little faster an' touch the light The journey is never over The journey's just begun... Race the Sun this part absolutely blew me away!!! I've never written a comment I didn't mean from the bottom of my heart...and I wish I had all the words to tell you how amazing this piece really is...but for now Awesome will have to suffice...you dear poet are a work of art!
