This ...... and That

Webster compares:

"That which is here
To that which is there."

Thus we're defined
And even reminded,
Just to make sure,
That a pronoun refers
To but one antecedent.
Yet still you were curious,
Asking about precedent
As if stare decisis
Really exists
Outside of a courtroom.
So I'll tell you again,
Look up, close your eyes
To find deep within,
Resident there,
This
Side of heaven,
Near words such as
"Miss",
Or "wish" you were here;
More rare and exquisite
When absent
A kiss.
