did you ever really want my words?
you know that there was a time
that they were all for you
words of sapphire blue and auburn red
flowing from the heart of a poet
from the soul of a man in love

and at the beginning, you loved my words
they filled your days with gentle breezes
and calmed the loneliness of your nights
you waited with tenderness of spirit
for the words that I would write of you
for the tales that I would tell of our love

but soon, you grew tired of my pen’s words
and you no longer shared words of your own
the anger that blotted out your soul separately
covered my own in midnight black as well
and my pen lay quiet upon the scroll of my life
never to be written upon in this life again

and yes, it’s true that I fought the darkness
and that I was fooled into thinking I had
found another light to shine through my life
but, that light was false, and lasted only a moment
that moment was enough, however, to show all
to show that there was nothing left of our life

how different it might have been fellow one
if you had taken my words then as you did back then
but alas, those moments are gone for both of us
and all that remained were wishes in the dark
and a pen that perhaps should have written them

Aha, I see you hiding over here in the shadows. This is quite special, and heartaching in its search for undertanding. Excellent poem, sir.

AAAAh  Sven, I too see your hiding or retreating into the darkness, in a state of confusion and pain.  But know this my friend, there are many lights in the darkness, many forms of love hiding in the darkness.  Though this one failed, sadly so.
Look around and see all the lights flickering in the darkness for you now, your friends and your loved ones.  You are not in complete darkness, from where I sit, I see you and see the many constellations of light in your life currently.  Embrace those, for each of them, every single one is better than none.
*hugs*

Sven, sometimes love hurts. Beautifully penned. You take time to mend that heart of yours because there is someone out there who will take proper care of it.

Though that pen lay in the darkness at this point, it shall again shine in the light. Your pen has always tooled a verse that touches the soul. Well written my friend.

Some don't realize the damage, and by the time they try....the attempt to "fix" it becomes forced. *sigh*

I had to get out...before anger took over too much of the territory..so I know where this comes from in your life.

Just archiving, John...just archiving.
