Blind to the present I walk along the hallway. Barren walls, darkened rooms- yet my eyes see the past, what used to be. As though an agency of the devil I walk, time has bent and is happening at once- allowing my mind to shift through the layers. The corpse of what was love lays silent in the present- rotting in oil and formaldehyde. But while the nocturnal doves watch, while the dust rises from each footstep on the floorboardst- my eyes see the past- gaily decorated rooms bathed in wonderful music, light and the smile of the one I used to love. I had a dream we saw one another you ran into my arms Then you left promised to come back but she never did I live the life of a bachelor get lucky now and then but always I am searching for her |

an interesting twist from the first part to the more normal poetry format that follows. Enjoyed the read. Some well thoughtout imagery in first verse. "difference between love and comfortis that comfort's more reliable and true |
