I Came Here Alone, part III you missed the dream you could not do I missed mine too because of you you persisted long with what you wrought I did not know and no one taught you had your chance it came to pass I yet could not become a lass you used me long to dream your girl I grew to hate so much a curl you the mother I never had I no daughter instead a lad you had built that dream for me I could not be nor could I free you had closed so early the gate I feel so little now so late you trapped us both without a clue I tried so hard could not undo you never seemed to realize I could not with you empathize you insisted for fifty years I could only respond with tears you said last “you are my daughter” I felt again your brutal slaughter you sitting there gave up alone I by chance? heard no atone you heard the organ music ring? I listened to the cantor sing you received my respect filial I am left with your denial © Krawdad 05.12.01 |

Part III a requiem. May you find peace through the flow of feeling. Thanks, Krawdad. "The rose, like the cactus flower, protects herself with thorns. We however, impale ourselves on their beauty." |
