okay, this is kind of a little word rhythm experiment thing,i'd like to have ya'll's(is that a word?lol) opinion on it...and yes it does have more meaning than it seems to. It's about a girl and marriage from youth to old age.ha Satins, linens, and silks, used to be my eulogy. Gravestone, greystone worn, save me from my imfamy. Gyve,oh shackle lock, you bind me to one spot. Shell shock, shell shock-shock, i've told you i am not and could not be a dainty girl, in a ruffle rebel world. Cannot have a cannon heart with painted lips and fingers curled. I will mix my tint sins 'round, will paint with tinsel chips, wrought and white-white now; post picket pocket fence. How am i to paint with scraps, how am i to bleed with white? Can you take away those traps? Please turn on the bright night light. Before i hit the rocks, and feel the spray of surf. catch me like a prowling fox and bury me in turf. I will be a maiden fair again, and kiss my suitors all. You can buy me linen-en and catch me when i fall. Be a dear and help me down the stair, care for me and bring me tea, put a pillow in my chair. And if i'm lucking, you might even let me be...... much madness is divinest sense, and much sense the starkest madness~Emily Dickinson |

I liked this, Sammi. "How am i to paint with scraps, how am i to bleed with white? Can you take away those traps? Please turn on the bright night light." Makes me think of my relationships these days. Very good post. Thanks. |

Sammi, I keep coming back to this poem. About twice a day since you posted it, to be honest, and it reveals something more each time. I believe you have captured the essence of commitment and defined what makes, or does not make, it work. Thanks. "The rose, like the cactus flower, protects herself with thorns. We however, impale ourselves on their beauty." |
