Soft white crystals freezing her thoughts away, Dreams of children dancing in happy play, Ocean breezes drift through memories gone, Fevered sweating replaces summer sun, Crushed glass is a sandy tropical beach, Her travel agent is always in reach, It’s a brew cooked within a silver spoon, There’s another flight that’s departing soon, Happy once more she dancing in the street, Making lovers of anyone she meets, Each one is different yet all the same, She smiles and gives them all John for a name, Presents of presidents given for time, Trades to trade for the clouding of her mind, Her skin full of needle marks and bruises, More brew and she takes tropical cruises, Blissfully happy without any pain, Locked within a confused brain. I know we all look at poems differently and that we read them differently as well. I got from this story ...... how so many have to make a *fake* way of happiness to get smiles from life. Some use drugs, alcohol and sometimes even many sex partners. But I believe that happiness comes from within and not something that someone/something can make *all better.* Not that I am to that point of total inner happiness, but hey!! I am working on it every day. Mags Hey Gloom? tell me what you were thinking when you wrote this one Don't cry because it's over: smile because it happened. |

Thank you, Dark Kisses, I believe you got the point, I was just watching the street From my window and “Crazy Mary” was twirling across. I remember her from her days of youth, wanting to travel The world, visit the exotic places, and be happy. She became just another wasted person. No thoughts, just observations placed in a bit of poetry. Gloom |

"Crazy Mary" has moments of clarity that are more painful then a gunshot wound... trapped in a life of slavery and forgot that there was ever freedom ... maybe even never knew... God Bless all the "Crazy Mary's" Great Write Gloom.... Great!!!!! |
