I believed you when you said those words with such certainty, proving to me that forever does exist. Now I know that words are just words; fragile and insubstantial, nothing more than sounds that please the ear. Tell me no more words, I will not listen. They are the cobblestones paving a desolate road, and my shoes are old. © 3/28/01 |

I enjoyed the last three lines: They are the cobblestones paving a desolate road, and my shoes are old. "and my shoes are old." That puts a whole new view point for me. Ronil (Inspiration for my poems is all around me for my muse is my reality.) |
