You offer me
hot white apocalypse,
blisters on the brain.

Lines of thought sieve through feeling
and fall away,
discarded props -- you get
one gold star and one
wrapped present
times weight times distance
divided by time,
plus or minus a margin
of errors.

Mm, I taste this,
I taste this choice
on my tongue,
like a planet of ashes
drifting in its orbit,
like desire torn by space,
like an atomic texture
defined by wait.

I do not understand these words
cascading into empty slots.
Oh, to fill the holes in my sight
with warmth and pictures in light.

But today is not tomorrow,
and so you offer me hot white apocalypse,
and I follow the map, I taste the route,
I espy the root of the fracture,
the caustic afterburn
of the fire before. Is this pleasure?

Tell me, love.
Measure,
in one measure.
Is this pleasure?
