WINTER

The clock,s gone back.
The days half dark.
The leaves are gone.
The trees are stark.

Animals have no time to wait.
The wise among them hibernate.
Things of beauty cease to grow.
The North wind powders all with snow

The temperature gets lower and lower.
The frenzied cry of shut that door.
Collars up against the sleet.
Where oh where is Summers heat?

The earth around is dark and dire
as we huddle 'round the fire.
But after Summer's bitter sting
comeslong awaited welcome Spring

This was very nice. Why it didn't get any comments I'm not sure, but it's worthy of many!

I too am a fan of winter - although this is a nice read.

Nothing I love more than curling up infront of the fire, with a good book and a glass of bourbon.

Shadowraven Thank you. I too like curling up by a fire. Unfortunately we only have central heating. Maggie
