A suspenseful night trip with a suprise twist...... *************************************************** "Dark Journey" Dark stormy night, alone on the road; Horse is nervous, owls hooting constantly. Shadows moving though the night is black, Wishing I was home in Bed, safe and sound. Thunder Rumbles, Lightning Flashes; It begins to rain, torrents falling down. I catch sight of an old hotel ahead. Moldy, rundown, falling in, spooky and scary!!!!!!! I enter, seeing ghost's of the past, My horse stays outside, preferring to be in the rain Rather than enter. Unseen voices talking around me. Wanting to leave, but the storm howls louder. A terrible feeling of doom fills me Evil spirits all around me. The hair stands on the back of my neck. Footsteps coming towards me. I run for the door, But it will not open I scream as a hand touches me. I open my eyes to hear my Mother saying; "Wake up, you are having a bad dream." I like it - drew me right in. Remember those dreams well. Feeling of a presence, heartbeat thumping, only to wake to see you are alone in your room, heart still thumping |

Thank You all for the wonderful words; this poem was a spontaneous poetry moment; I opened a poetry submission page for dark poetry and decided to try it; I write so few poems like this.
