Dark Warrior

A new sun rises – in a blood red sky,
Patiently she waits – for the battle cry.
She sits her horse and awaits the call –
Upon hearing the Raven she will wait no more.

She smells their fear – feels it thick in the air
The morning sun glistens on her midnight hair,
The call reaches her ear – now is the time!
Battle to her, like the taste of fine wine.

Blood on her hands – blood on her face
Dead bodies scattered, all over the place.
Severed limbs and blood and gore –
There is nothing that she craves more.

Screams of agony – reach her ears,
The whimpered cries of men in tears.
She has heard it all before –
Such is a life served in war.

Beheaded, impaled, men sent to their graves –
The life of battle – the Dark Warrior craves.
Fighting in deadly silence, the enemy all she sees,
Euphoric as the battle lust finally breaks free.

"in a past life i was a woodcarver's knife: the sharpend blade of a wood cutter, the eldest son of the chief's brother: a maker of drums"

hmm - Braveheart. I never thought of that.

Not what I was aiming for - but I did enjoy Braveheart - except for when the use those really long stakes and kill all the horses. Not my favourite scene at all

"Is it safe inside your head
Songs to serenade the dead."
