I watched you in fear that night, swimming in that toxic wasteland you called your soul. Unable to swim away from yourself you lashed out at me, an angry overcharged eel filled with such misguided venom; and only you could see and feel the need to strike. Love's waters sizzled as you struck with your venomous blow at my heart and unprotected visage. Instantly I froze, catatonic with pain and shock, as I fell to the darkest bottom of Love’s hidden cesspool, a helpless quivering mass, a too-often-jellied soul unable to withstand the forces of your jealous depravity. A local fisherman of heart came to our polluted pond proffering peaceful thoughts. You hissed and broke his nose, then swam back into your toxic corner, without explanation or remorse. Even then I let myself swim in your pollution for more full moons than I care to remember, before that pond was drained and my feet finally dried from your hellish immersion. Yet today I still wonder whether or not you continue to swim in the toxic wasteland that you created for yourself... unable, or simply unwilling to swim away. Hey Kacy! I see that you've found some killians', after all. Appreciate your anger here. And alas, many (me?) have chosen to slither around in that same fetid fen. Very nice write. ~Ed |

Wranx, I wish I had found that Irish brew. I woke up at 4AM, and wrote this down while swimming in a memory nightmare. Glad I got this out of my pond. Succubus, thanks for your reply. Guess we've all known some nasty eels and their jellyfish partners? [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (10-05-2002 12:01 PM).] |

I LOVE THIS POEM! You've got eels, jellies and even hints of lycanthropy and drink in here. Wonderfully complex, and yet ... Phew. You're gettin' better and better, Kacy! |

ROTFL, Mikey, I have more of this stuff...just never thought anyone would enjoy it. Time to go dredging for a hallowed eve? Thanks for the reply, guy. |

Sheesh! I completely forgot about this write. It gives ME chills to re-read it. Sue, I sure hope it didn't make your skin crawl. My, but you've really been digging around in the archives. I do that sometimes too, and it's really amazing what you can uncover. The relationship that ended in this write was a bit rough, to say the least. |

You healed so well...I love that about you! If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Poetry friends are so wonderful. You understand the pain of a heart who needs to write to release the demons. Love you guys. |
