Feeling All Alone I am nothing. I am nobody. I am a fool feeling all alone. The best way I know how to explain this is with one word at a time. When I say I am nothing that means I might as well not exist because as far as she is concerned I don't. And if I do exist I have no reason for my existance because I am most certainly nothing. At least that's the man she see's thru her eyes. Have you noticed I tend to romanticize almost every situation? I have noticed a tendacy to sensualize members of the female persuasion. When I say I am nobody I am thinking I don't actually need a body because nobody wants my body. No one desires my kiss. No body misses my kiss. So even if I had a body I wouldn't need it because nobody wants a nobody. I have to say I am a fool knowing that nobody wants a fool around. Nobody wants to know him. Especially she. The biggest fool of all is apparently me. Why should I act so surprised that I am alone? She has no problem leaving this nobody alone. I have become a fool feeling all alone. Jameslee@March03,2001 |

You won't always feel this way! Everybody and I mean Everybody feels this way at some point in their life! Be patient, and love yourself first. I know it sounds corny but it's true! Debbie |

Thank you Temptress and Debbie...yes everyone feels this way at some time in their life...I am expressing my frustration over a relationship that seems to be fading...a relationship that I would hope to see improve...not sure of the status right now...I feel unnecessary and alone...James |

I can relate too James! The other thing that gets me is when you know a lot of people LOVE you for who you are, physically, mentally and emotionally.. then it comes down to why can't THEY He/She see this???? It is frustrating, hurtful etc. but obviously she is incapable of seeing, so the best advice is REALLY to find a fair lassie that does.... I know you are just working it all out in poetic form, but never doubt yourself hon, I've known you for long enough to know the good in you.. *hugs* Isis *War produces one thing - Cemetaries. James- this was so sad and it was very well written. I hope that things work out well for you in the end. "I'll build a wall if we can keep them on the other side"---NIN "There is no always forever, just this"-the cure |

i quote from salinger's seymour:an introduction. "And I'm reminded, too, that once, when we were boys, Seymour waked me from a sound sleep, much excited, yellow pajamas flashing in the dark. He had what my brother Walt used to call his Eureka Look, and he wanted to tell me that he though he finally knew why Christ said to call no man Fool.(It was a problem that had been baffling him akk week, because it sounded to him like a peice of advice, I believe, more typical of Emily Post than of someone busily about his Father's Business.) Christ had said it, Seymour thought I'd want to know, because there are no fools. Dopes, yes - fools, no." (by the way this is not meant to be a religious or Christian thing im trying to say, i am Jewish myself) i'm not actually trying to say anything with that quote , i only thought of it and decided to share. it was a nice poem. reminds me of the way my mind sometimes works. in my opinion when you reach a point when all your thoughts are like these then it is time to simply stop.let go. very un-useful advice. i know. shira |

James Michael, what a sad dark beautiful lament. In a way it has the tragic almost suicidal pessimism of Hamlet's skull speech, the soliloquy where he questons his very existence, but for his own reasons. |

Hey James!! So i was reading your poem and it made me think of a song, a fab song, have you heard Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus, Its about a guy who feels hed never get the girl and that she doesnt even realise he exists, but, in the end he does get the girl, i love this song, being 18 it makes me relate! Im sure you are a lovely guy with loads of stuff going for him, your certainly a gr8 poet, keep looking, shes out there. Good Luck. xxx "Keep the faith"-Jon Bon Jovi |

I appreciate all the nice responses...this poem is an expression of my disappointments with a woman that I admire very much who put me on a pedestal and told me she loved me and with the sweep of a hand she took everything away...one day I was her everything and the next day I was nothing... Thank you for the beautiful words. You spoke directly to my heart. I know in my head that there is someone for everyone, but the heart doesn't always understand that Never accepting a challenge, you will never feel the excitement of victory. |

No one is a fool, and you certainly aren't. You may have loved foolishly, but then who doesn't? Some day someone will want you, and you will be a no-body no longer. *S* |

How very sad and how often do we all feel like this. I once felt like this too, but my prince came along and has ensured that the lonliness you described is a simple past moment. Hope you find the same happiness. |

i too felt the same way as you James...but i came to the realization that if someone can take their love that they had for me away so fast, then what they had wasnt even real, and they didn't deserve the love that i had for them (which was real). I know you must be going through such a tough time...but i promise you, you will realize that there is more then just that one person for us! There are actually more then one...so keep on looking for that special someone! Oh, and another thing...dont try to pick apart every girl you meet, and compare them to her! Good Luck...i hope to read happier poems from you in the future! love, kristin |

James....sweetie. If she, in a sweep of her hand, took it all away, then she is the one who is the nothing. ((hug)) from a friend. Marilyn. |

The title attracted me because I am. So of course your words and the pain they convey are very familiar. You've written well the total confusion and lack of identity that can smother you when someone you love turns their back. |
