It’s empty, I let them all fly away The chamber was cold Then the hammer started fire Out of the metal and into the chest Life doesn’t have a bullet-proof vest It’s empty now, there are only bleeding holes The chamber held the close Then the hammer started a war We find joy, in spilling blood You can take the mud out of the world But you can’t take the world out of the mud |

I liked it. Kind of sad... The line "You can take the mud out of the world" confused me though... Can we really?.. ...somos los locos para siempre |

Well it's kind of like, you can change some things in the world, but you cannot change human beings and all of the damage we have created. |

Yeah, that line tripped me up, too. I mean, without mud, you really wouldn't HAVE a world. But I do get the point, and I like the write. "I don't need to scream for you to deem me aggravation." |

i liked this, but it kinda confused me "in a past life i was a woodcarver's knife: the sharpend blade of a wood cutter, the eldest son of the chief's brother: a maker of drums" |

What confused you? Here I will try and explain this poem, to try and clear things up. This poem is basically about violence and the final two lines "you can take the mud out of the world, but you can't take the world out of the mud" is very much a political statement. It's saying that world leaders such as Bush can kill all the people they want, and start as many wars as they want to try and get rid of the "mud" but innevitably it solves nothing, it's just one more reason why the world will never change, hence "You can't take the world out of the mud". I hope that clears it up a bit. |
