I examine the unfurnished shell bent slightly, bare back facing me Contemplating my existence Sad, exhausted and hollow Much like the shell Dark arms reach out in sweet emancipation Obediently, I drown in its comfort But all too quickly Reality waterfalls inside my window Comforted no more Numb feet touch a surface Of what they take for granted to be the floor Confronted cruelly by the days necessity Robotic movements know the way Calculated breathing Artifical darkness, my final benefit Before the metal curtain unveils A neatly wrapped package Complete with bow So lord I see you grinnin' must be grand always winning....AIC |

Magia_negra Thank you for taking the time to read my poem. I must admit that I'm a bit selfish when I write, as I am expressing what I am feeling at the time without regard for anyone who may read it. That is something I really need to work on. The unfurnished shell is of course, someone lying next to me. Dark arms represents the evening darkness. Reality waterfalls is the morning sunlight. Articfical darkness, my garage, and the metal curtain, my garage door. What I'm trying to say in this piece, is that the package represents what I allow the world to see, a person who seems to have it all together. However, a lot of the time, the contents are very much broken. Thanks again for the response. So lord I see you grinnin' must be grand always winning....AIC |
