Leftover Thoughts

I thought I could live without her
because so many days were spent
apart from her anyway.

I thought I could smile, but I
couldn't smile with her away.

I couldn't stop thinking of her
silky black hair and all the magic
moments that we once had shared.

I thought I wouldn't miss her
but nary a day passed without
my yearning to kiss her.

I thought I wouldn't cry.
Cry just because she said goodbye?

And then pain set in
and I wanted to die.

this is a great work of art and it's also great to get on here after so long and see old faces and old friends. reason being i'm in the army.
