I WAS DRUNK (CAN U TELL?)

Friday night,
cloudy gray sky.
No stars in sight.
A huge dark house.
Crowds inside.
Thick layers of smog,
stale smoke seeping through my nose.
Voices talking, to me I think.
Can't quite make out the words.
Blarring music,
echoing through my tunnel like ears.
I see lips moving,
but I hear no sounds.
Bright lights flashing,
figures floating by.
Feels like a dream.
Rubber legs, can't stand straight.
A stranger hands me something,
small, rolled up & green.
He lights it for me,
my eyes gleam.
I get a tingly down my spine.
Now I can't be controlled.
Seeing things, normal things,
that now look outrageous.
I feel things that would
never normally happen,
impossible things.
Say things I wouldn't normally say,
that now don't sound foreign at all!

~OK I know this one sux, but i wrote it in '98 when i was still in highschool--I was drunk & I had to write a poem for my poetry & creative writing class every tuesday--I never handed this one in of course--lol--but I kept it in it's original form!~

I liked this one. I think it's pretty good. The ending quote is nice, and reaks of truth.

Elmo,

This was a humorous journey down a road most of us in high school have taken at one time or another...never lit up a doobie in my life, but do my fair share of tipping the bottle. May we all laugh at this one for we have been there! Take four aspirin and drink five glasses of water before you pass out! he he he :P
