(Written on 3/28/96...during the depressing college years)
------

Everyday my heart is breaking
everyday the pain I'm taking
is crushing all I have to give
with this sadness, I cannot live

Each night I drown in tears
each night I live my fears
I can't go on feeling this way
I cannot face another day

of living in a tired dream
of waiting to wake from the scream
Asleep inside a fantasy
fighting for what will never be

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end...

Shannon, this is a very well-written poem. I hope that things are less depressing nowadays. Thanks for sharing these feelings you had with us.

Thanks, everyone!

I definitely was depressed in my college days, but I'm happy to say that life is going well now   Unfortunately, since that bad stuff is gone, I no longer have all that great darkness to inspire my poetry, but hey...I'll do my best.
Thanks for the kind words, and hope to see you all around!

Hi again, for anyone interested...I actually had written a poem a few days ago about how I miss the "depressing" years of my life, since they were such a means of poetic inspiration.  If you are interested, the poem is called "Cloud Nine Congestion" -- I appreciate any feedback, thanks!

Thanks, Forgoten!  I really like your quote about not wanting rain on your funeral.
