Sorrow is a lie
Tears perform to cry
City streets are packed with hate
Wanna take the side street, but it's too late

Trying not to look into the evil eye
For it is that eye that kills my cry
Not ready to look at the demon inside
I don't know where that mean girl hides.

I get too scared to face the facts
Gave this idea one big whack.
Take the long way to paradise; I'm almost there
Now I don't have to give one damn care.

Watching life from paradise outside of a box
Dangling my feet in the water under the dock
Watching the sun set under the sea
Looking at the beautiful colors my eyes see

I want to go join in on this sun dance
Kick down the lie with that prance
But I can't walk across the water - it's too deep
Instead I curl in a ball and fall asleep.

My eye's open slowly to the newly raised sun
Thinking of what I missed, the dance and fun
Tears fall down like rain against my red cheeks
Forever, this secret, I'll keep.

Slowly I face reality and step back into the box,
Coming back from insanity on the dock.
Once again I've wondered off in my mind
Broke my promise- of stopping it this time.
