I'm a friend to the light
And unrequited lover to the dark
But I fit neither
I'm a thinking shade of gray

The angel offers me her hand
In salvation
I turn away

I offer my blood
To the devil
In the golden love chalice
She turns away

In Limbo
My passion is swallowed
By Dragon’s Breath

This poem is the simplest I've ever written.

It's about two girls I know: One a devout christen, the other an atheist (among other things)

I don't frequent Dark Poetry, but I love this piece. It's one that kinda reflects my personality, or rather my fate.

I always find myself caught in this kinda situation - stuck in between, and it's usually coz of friends. I'm always the mediator between 2 friends or groups of friends who aren't too good with each other. 1 set in secondary school, 2 sets in polytechnic, and then, my best friend versus all the rest... *sigh*

I understand you here...

Oh, I thought you were writing about ME!  I think many of us will identify ourselves in this to some degree.  Interesting!

Isn't that the beauty of poetry?

That IS the beauty of it, and you have the ability for which we are all striving, that is to connect with the reader.

And I can think of so many facets of that truth.  I'm human, I can relate, and I'm happy you've shared your words.  What's next?
