PILFERING

You stand accused of theft,
You are guilty
Of this act of larceny.
There will be
No doubt at all
Of your culpability,
In this particular matter.
But what I abhor the most
Is that once you stole my heart,
You discarded it,
As one might abandon
A purloined diamond
Into an unknown pawnshop.
Lost forever,
And totally irretrievable,
By the original owner.
Such an extreme act of cruelty,
And with such wanton disregard
For my soul.
I be me BUT who does me be?
