Myriad of Unkown Places

Not anymore.
I'm never sure I can trust myself,
Never sure I can trust anyone else,
Anymore.

I'm never sure
Where I am, where I am going, where I was
Never sure that my instincts are right
Anymore.

I'm never sure anymore
What lies behind their faces,
Who they are, of their motives
Anymore.

I'm never sure
A poor judge of people, I must be
And might see only what I want to see
Not from deliberate self-deception

But simple wishful thinking,
As though a simple wanting
Could really make it so,
That it could really be

What I want to see.
But I am never sure.
Not anymore.
