Lonely Man’s Love

“Kill me now!”
The man screamed
“For death is better than love…”

“An arrow through the back,”
The man exclaimed
“Much better than Cupid’s through the heart!”

“Burn me from the outside in!”
The man called
“For worse is passions burn from the inside out.”

“Beat me now!”
The man cried
“For love’s tender touch is far more painful.”

“Kill me now!”
The man whispered
“For death is quicker than love…”

I loved this piece somuch because I (and many others I am sure) can totally relate. Sometimes you just get so fed up with all the lies, all the stress and heartaches, that anything is better than love. That's why I always say "plant your own garden instead of waiting for somebody to give you flowers." Low expectations keeps the heart in one piece, that's for sure.
