somebody's dungeon

Forget the past
I scream at last.
It holds me fast
in deadly blast.

Not letting go
the words I know,
just there for show
they're not my foe

Yet enemy I find
horrendous and unkind.
I beg a moment blind
sightless of the mind.

Return me I implore
back to forgetful shore,
to live this nevermore
mind blank as was before.

Ah yes,
ignorance is bliss
and a horror all its own.
