Every night I pray for salvation. Not for redemption and forgiveness of sins, for I already have that, I pray to be saved from myself. I am a form of death, broken and defeated by my own needs and buried by mistakes of the past. But now I am tired of being tired and I long for life. 8 to 5 with quiet evenings wrapped in normalcy, nights where sleep is real and unbroken instead of the abstract concept it is now. I want to discard the nicotine crutch, and to pull a quilt over my head because of the cold, not because of the need to hide. [This message has been edited by Jonas (09-28-2002 11:00 PM).] |

Nice poem. I know what you mean pal. The past has this nasty tendency of biting you in the rear. "If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" |
