And here I go, purging my inner demons. These feelings are years old, and take novels to explain. It's not so much where I am now, but the building up to what I've become. None of this is from my present, but it defines my present. If I'm making any sense.

If you don't get it... Don't ask.

A Poem for Many Stories

Staring through this mirror image,
I lose the idea of what to expect.
Who are we anymore, really?
What have we left behind?
One more step
through reality.
As I stare here in blindness...
Leave me be.
On the best of days,
on the worst of days,
their words appear as poetry.
Things can be maddening,
he warned me surely,
but maybe I didn't listen well enough.
Lives changes.
We change.
Things turn 'round,
we can't expect.
Don't accept the punishments
you're so busy pushing on yourself.
This is not your life.
Don't live this lie.
In times like this, I lose myself.
Will you gather my pieces in your wake?
What do
you lose
for her?
What
do
you
gain?
All I am is all you wanted me to be.
I know things have changed,
and you don't have to tell me.
Scary as it seems,
I've grown up on my own.
Your concern is touching,
maybe overwhelming.
Would you believe me
if I insist I don't need you?
His voice was tired,
as he spoke to me,
painfully unsure
of the world around us.
Why have we changed?
His voice was pleading.
Why won't you remain
in the role we once laid?
Love, let me reach you,
let me sacrifice and worship.
Love, let me learn.
Life isn't always fair.

your tongue's like poison
so swollen it fills up my mouth

no life is not always fair..

Demons indeed... I enjoyed this....but perhaps it is easier for one to enjoy the writing of the soul and of demons when they can relate due to personal experiences of their own.

Nicely done.... indeed

I love how complex this thought is, baby.
Like the push-pull of need and reality.
Strangely, this poem made me think
of a copy of Dicken's A Tale of Two Cities
going up in flames like a moth.

Don't ask.

P.S. Ron, I'd like you to meet my girlfriend.
My best friend.

Missed ya Lady L.

Got me thinking. Maybe we just end up living up to each other's expectations--good AND bad...

This is wonderful.and I'm jealous. I'm in a self-loathing mood of late--damned mercury is retrograde...

you went away
and grew

this is close to my heart
right now
these questionings
but

love keeps coming up
the answer
it doesn't seem to want
any doubts
or fears

and even in IT'S changing
over time?
It remains
what IT is

very good one Lori

Yanno..you are making sense..and I understand this. Its a struggle between something I really don't have words for. Its a passage from one thing to another...perhaps from one side of yourself to another..and its a denial..all this at the same time. Sorry I really don't have a way of explaining. Please trust me when I say I understand this?

Glad yer back.

Lori,
you seem to have broken through to a new chamber, in which you found an answer or two. But, discovered the doorway to more questions. So it goes.
