With blackened face, with swell of pride. Battle weary, broke inside. Bereft of feeling, numb to death. Witness to the fading breath. Whether warrior or soldier boy, still the red of blood will cloy. Making the man feel it's naught, for too much of war has each one fought. Changing the heart the spirit, the mind. The senseless killing of mankind. WhiteRose |

I like how you've sneaked youth into this, with your "soldier boy." This adds to the overall tragedy of human nature you have presented here. "If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" |
