ah but we do get more adept at handling serpents.... and perhaps not bitten as often in the future. |

I seem to have struck a nerve with this one. arthur, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I think the way it works is they'll pick up the submission. If they don't like the first line, off it goes back into the mail. There's plenty more to read. brian, Tell me about it! I'm sending off some poems to Poetry and feeling really queasy over it. This won't be the first time I've been rejected by them. But, on the brighter side, I have been published in various elsewheres, four different times. Ron, yes, we do. We also let some of the poison injest, not to detrimental effect. Thanks for reading! Mike |

With every bite you learn... ...like how to defend yourself against the next one... It's remembering to use this knowledge that we sometimes forget... I liked this... Succubus |

smiling-- I still have not summoned the courage... I'm still smarting from an offhand remark from someone who shall remain unmentioned who started a poetry/prose ezine... I was hoping I would find a place for some of my "edgier" work--but was told-- "You don't seem to understand--this is a place to showcase people with talent!" ouch. sigh. I relate, Mikey. |

Thank you, everyone. And just remember, Sen. You're in New Orleans. Therefore, you win! Screw what anyone else has t' say. I'd read you over many of the poets at Passions. So there. |

Ouch..to serenity's reply I mean some ppl don't know real talent when it bites them in the *ahem* lol..but no Loved your poem, and I'm afraid of rejection so I'm not taking a chance but life is full of chances is it not!? so I should listen to my own little voice in my head telling me to go for it..but I commend you for your bravery that for which I lack at the moment.. Consider yourself fuzzed |

Although I enjoyed this piece, I don't think that I have the guts to face rejection...sigh...am so weak! "Am assured, receptive, responsive women of substance. My sense of self comes not from other people but from myself? That can't be right." Bridget Jones |

I wonder if we're even given a chance? Well you just keep trying, right? I liked this much!! As I like all of your work! Do I even need to ask you to keep up the good work? Tschuß! -Tanya ~*~I'm only a dreamer, with broken dreams, and only words to fall back on~*~ |
