Your words are scrawls, written to dust for new information. Your words are poison onions, layer by layer the seep of unsound. Your words are pressed petals, obscuring pages of texture and layer. Your words are cracked highways, shooting white-eyed lines to tires. Your words are shadows; I will step away from their closure. Your words are prophet keeping; not prophet making, understand. |

I think I took a very personal interpretation.... I was thinking of this as a symbolic representation of a situation of emotional abuse--which led me to think, that if one is subjected to a daily, barrage of information, even if that information is not the truth--it does in fact, register somewhere in the subconscious. And even further, if it does, that, does it not become a part of our belief system, coloring our reality...and then I thought, all thought that is composed of word, is subject to a very limited personal view--which led me to think of what I consider to be the only true unadulterated language, which is that of symbolism...(there I go again with Carl Jung, archetype and collective unconscious.) "words are the source of misunderstandings" thus, poison onions. grin. Well ya, ASKED... ![]() |

I love when you really let your IQ shine on these pages, Sen. For me, the thing with symbols? Everyone reads their present ideas into them. So it's all not only subjective, but temporal, too. The poem was just me in a bad mood. I had some bits of ideas scattering through my head like gnats, and swatted them onto the page. Then I capped it all off with a sour about how, even if I'm a good poet, it sure don't matter much in this world. ![]() Mike |
