please try and read Mona first Mona 2 ( the making of Niamh *) I have kept vigil through the night Silently watched and prayed As the brigtest stars now take flight Close by her pool I have stayed Great Samheim!,Lord of the Dead Dread Teutates!,God of her Tribe She loved me so when alive Call her back from the dead ! I wear the fox cape and the amulet I have eaten the sin takers bread When the stars are finally set Call her back from the dead ! Night is sacrificed to day Blood red sun arising from rest Great Wodin!,hear me I pray Call her back from the dead ! Slowly the mists of the morning Come swirling over the lake That is her voice I hear calling See!,A spirit is taking shape! Her face is clouded with mourning I know and accept my fate Her slender arm is beckoning Hurry!,I must not be late Her flesh is so cold and so wet Her eyes look but do not see O Sprit with each faltering step I give my soul to theee Her hair is dressed all in weeds Her dress stained with grassy sods As death takes me in her arms Hark! The laughter of the Gods. notes A)it was an old celtic custom for a person to eat burned bread and thus take upon there own souls the sins of the newly dead b)Niamh,is the Lady of the lake that throw the sword to Arthur sept 2002 |

arthur, these are a treasure. Very, very good. You've managed to take me into your story. ~wranx In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward". |

Arthur, I do believe...these Mona pieces are the best I have seen from you, and I do hope they become a series. I look forward to seeing more of these from you...soon...sooner in fact! ~Hugs across the pond~ ~ Time has cast a spell on you |

Once again, Arthur, you have spun an insightful and beautiful piece of poetry. Thankyou for your notes at the beginning. You seem to have quite a lot of historical knowledge. You've done a great job spinning a tale both with beautiful imagery and an ironic twist at the end. This is most certainly going into my library. "If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" |
