The sweet words are gone now vitriol flows from this writer’s pen too many shoulders turned made this spine too straight to unbend Smiles turned to bitter grins and rainbows turned cumulus flowers withered on their stem blood of promise turned to dust Whispers heard behind the scenes she’s not the same as she used to be groups gathered to watch her stumble smiling in silent cacophony Weary eyes adjust to the bitter dusk even the sun is glad for the night this poet sears in the bright of day and turns to the hardened dark to write |

You've tied the images in this poem together well. The light turning to darkness, the sun being glad to set on the land, the sweet words being gone. I like the way you've described what seems to be an age now moving away to make room for some other era or time. "If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" |

Thank you. I've lost my 'light words' I think. |

smiling...you've not lost your light words...you just have to be smacked around a bit! (and I'm waiting for someone to yell at me for that suggestion, giggle) It's okay folks, I kissed her first! The poem is so sad, it's hard for me to say that I love it, but I love seeing you here. Stick around a bit, it's much more fun to play hide-n-go-seek in the DARK! |

Sharon, This place isn't *that* hardened. I'm glad to see you here, though. I hope you'll post more. I miss you. Mike |

It is always amazing when the dark shows more than the light. Thank you. What light through yon window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun. |
