oh I like the water hot I pour sea salt into the flow I light candles flickering and van-van in the froth of foam... Petals of the rose for love, red but dark in velvet crush... lavender to please the nose and oil of musk entices touch. Basil, (though it's overkill) but I love love enough to spill like a cloud in cumulous I simply cannot hold enough. Sandalwood, appeasing gods, I'll cleanse away the miles you trod-- I'll lick the drops of me from you diamond drops on tongue in dew... Say you love me? (I am yours...) Say there was nothing before... let me be a blanket spread and weep my kisses on your head in hopes each tear is magic seed planting in you dreams of peace. |

This poem strikes me as one examining the idea of cleansing one's self of the past[in this case past love] and moving onto something new with a "clean slate." You have done a good job in portraying the speaker's absolute devotion to love despite whatever may have happened to complicate things in the past. "If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" -- Magus [This message has been edited by fractal007 (09-13-2002 09:07 PM).] |
